RCC FAMILY MINISTRIES

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9

What We Value
Redeemer Community Church's mission is to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and growing in loving community. An important aspect of this mission is leading parents to understand the importance of training their children in the things of the Lord and involving them in the mission of the church. We believe equipping children with godly values is the highest calling for a Christian parent.  In order to prepare our members for this challenge, we have provided several avenues to assist with the discipleship of our children.

Why A Family Service?
Redeemer Community Church encourages families to lead their children in the Lord through a family-oriented worship service.  Our children are a vital part of the church, and it is important for them to understand this truth early in their childhood years.  To encourage unity within the church, children of all ages are invited to participate in our Lord’s Day worship service.

Sunday mornings give our children the opportunity to listen to their parents worship in song, observe them pray and confess their sin, and hear God’s word proclaimed. Children of all ages are able to learn abundantly through these priceless observations.

8 Tips for Helping Your Child Worship
"Wiggle" Room: As parents, we know that at times children make a little noise, and that is okay. It is to be expected! If your children need a little room to move, our "wiggle" room next to the nursery has a play area for parents to take their children during the service.  Also, if you prefer, we do offer a nursery for children up to age 4. Visit our RCC Kid's page for more info.

Family Devotionals: Bridging the Gap
As essential as Sunday worship is to the spiritual growth of our members and their children, corporate worship is not to be the primary training ground for our children. Parents are instructed to instill godly values at home. If this makes you nervous, you are not alone. Training and teaching our children can be intimidating.

As a church, we are here to help. We have great resources that can aid your family in your spiritual walk. There are also many parents at Redeemer Community Church who are committed to training their children at home and would love to share their experiences with you. If there is a specific resource you are looking for or an area in which you need help, please feel free to reach out to Redeemer’s leadership and members; we are happy to help you!

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4
